The school where the German course takes place is located on the third floor in a shoppin centre Hof Darmstädter Centrum, where you will find cafes, restaurants, bars, a bank, a bakery, a travel agency and many other shops. 

It is a very big school and has 30 big, bright and fully equipped classrooms; there are 6 offices, two kitchens, a dining room and a terrace. Also, the school is equipped for disabled students.

Heidelberg is a small city with narrow and steep streets. The best way of getting around the city is on foot. 

  • Bus: There is a bus service that connects all the reas of Heidelberg. More information in http://www.hsb-heidelberg.de/
  • At night and at the weekends, there are night buses. They are called Moonliner lines and there are 5 that, every hour between 1am and 4am make journeys from Bismarckplatz to different places in the city.

What to see in Heidelberg

  • The Heidelberg castle. Powerful location that was the residence of the princes for half a millennium.

  • The Church of the Holy Spirit of Heidelberg. It was built between 1399 and 1441. In this Gothic Church is where the princes were buried. 
  • Kornmarkt (Wheat market) is a beautiful and old square in Heidelberg.
  • Brükentor and the old bridge
  • Philosophenweg (Philosopher´s way). We advise you to take a stroll here, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the urban area.

Concordia

Concordia residence is 2km from the school and 10 minutes by public transport. The metro stop is 200m away. It offers simple equipment and is very close to the forest. There are double or single rooms with sinks in the bedroom. Bathrooms and kitchens are shared (one per floor). There is a laundry and free internet connection with cable. 

Freiburg

Freiburg residence is 5km from the school and very close to the vineyards. The school is 20 minutes away by public transport. The metro stop is 400m away. It offers simple equipment and is near the vineyards. There are double and single rooms. Bathrooms and kitchens are shared. There is a laundry and internet connection with cable. 

Steinhof

Steinhof residence is 4km from the school (20 minutes by public transport). It was completely refurnished in 2012. It offers small attic rooms and bigger rooms. The bathrooms and kitchen are in the basement.

The Bach residence can be found 5km from the school in a very quiet area. It has been completely renovated in 2011. There are single and double bedrooms. The bathrooms and the kitchen are shared. There is a laundry and internet connection with cable. 

Weiher

The Weiher residence is 4km from the school and 300m from the metro stop. There are small bedrooms in the basement. It was completely renovated in 2011 and its very near the sports centre. There are double and single bedrooms. The bathrooms and kitchen are shared. There is a laundry and internet connection with cable. 

Schmitt

The Schmitt residence can be found 5km from the school and 20 minutes by public transport. It can be found in a very quiet area. There are double and single bedrooms. The bathrooms are shared by floor and there is a very big kitchen for all students. 

Steinhof

The Steinhof residence is located 4km from the school and 100m from the metro stop. It was completely reformed in 2012. 

Viktoria 

The Viktoria residence can be found 5km from the school and 20 minutes by bus from the school. There are double and single rooms completely equipped (from 18 to 22m2). Bathrooms and kitchen are shared.

Schmitt

The Schmitt residence is 5km from the school and 20 minutes by public transport. In all the bedrooms there is a shower and the bathrooms are shared by floor. There is a very big kitchen for all students.

Turner

The Turner residence offers single or double rooms with toilet. There is a big and completely equipped kitchen on each floor.

SRH

The SRH residence is 3.5km from the school and 15 minutes in public transport. There are single bedrooms with private bathroom. The kitchens are shared. Towels are not included. Bedding is included. There is a cleaning service in the common areas twice a week, but students are responsable for cleaning their own bedroom. If you arrive at Heidelberg later than midnight, you will need to reserve a hostel. You will be able to get into the residence Monday morning.

The residence Rohrbach is 500m from the school, a 5 minute walk. There are single bedrooms with a shared bathroom. There is a kitchen on each floor, and they are shared with all students. There is not a washing machine, but there is a laundry very close. 

Bergheim

The Bergheim residence is located 170m from the school and just a 2 minute walk. There is a double or single room. Each bedroom has a bathroom and private kitchen. 

Sophie

The Sophie residence is 160m from the school and just a 2 minute walk. We offer double or single bedrooms with bathroom and a small private kitchen. The double bedrooms have bunkbeds. 

Marz

The Marz residence is in the old part of the city, 600m from the school, a 6 minute walk. There are single or double rooms. The bathrooms and kitchens are shared. The students will be responsable for cleaning their accommodation. If you arrive at Heidelberg later than midnight you will need to reserve a hostel. You will be able to get into the residence on the Monday morning.

How to get to Heidelberg

The closest airport to Heidelberg is Frankfurt airport which is approximately 90km from the city.

  • Buses: There are regular buses from the airport to the city. Also, there are some airlines that have their own transfer service. For example, from Meeting Point B in Terminal 1 of the airport, there is a Lufthansa Shuttle Bus (Lufthansa transfer bus)

From the airport, you can catch the Hahn-Express

The majority of the low cost airlines fly to Frankfurt.Hahn airport, located 140km from Heidelberg. 

  • The Hahn Express (bus) goes from the airport to Heidelberg. There are 7 departures daily, leaving from the airport and stopping in Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (Central station in Heidenberg). Some also stop in the central bus station of Mannheim. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and the ticket to Heidelberg costs 18€ (one way); 16€ to Mannheim.
