Valleta is located on a hill on the East coast. It is located between a big harbour in the south, and the port of Marsamxett in the north. It was given this name in honour of Jean Parísot de la Vallette, Grand Master of the order of the Knights of San Juan, who ingeniously led the reconstruction of the city after expelling The Turks in the Great Siege of 1565. The Valetta remains a beautiful baroque town. Its fortifications are imposing, with gigantic stone walls that converge at the castle of St Elmo.
Its main street is Kingsway, parallel to the Strait Street. Before, the Strait Street was the only street where the gentleman could duel. Later it was the red area
The Valetta has many beautiful churches and palaces, amongst them the Cathedral of San Juan stands out, shelters and knights housing.

This preparation course for the IELTS exam will be focused on the skills and strategies needed to pass the IELTS exam. The course will make the experience much easier, getting the best result. Get to know the different sections of the exam, the ways to maximise your time and the types of questions in the IELTS exam.
This course is perfect for those who want to improve their skills and practice before the exam. In the lessons, you will practice reading, writing, listening and speaking, as well as improving your grammar and vocabulary.

The school organises a varied plan of activities in the afternoon and at night. Signing up to the activities is the perfect way to get to know the island, make new friends and practice your English.
Living with a family is an excellent opportunity to practice English and get to know the Maltese culture. All of the families live near to the school.

All of the apartments are in the heart of Sliema, near our Beach Club, 25 minutes by bus from the school.
The apartments are fully furnished with kitchen and shared living room, laundry, TV and air conditioning. We provide sheets, blankets and towels. There is a cleaning service once a week.
To get to the school from your apartment, you can get a bus or better a ferry from Slieme to Valleta. There is a ferry every half an hour and the journey takes 9 minutes. The price of the ticket is 0.50€ with student card and 1€ without.

Malta International Airport, also know as Luqa airport, is the only means of air transport and small archipelago in the country, and has a peculiarity of only operating international flights, as there are no other commerical airports in the country. It is located in Luqa, 8km from Valleta.
The distance from the airport to the school is 15km.
TAXI: The taxi takes approximately 20 minutes and costs around 20-25€. These are the "White taxis" that are available at the airport.
The private taxis such as "Wemblys" need to be reserved before, but they offer a better service.
Bus: if you want to go to the school by bus, you should get the number 8 to the bus station of Valleta.
